Classic Irish pub with a waterfront view!
Start with an Irish Pub named Patrick’s and add a head barkeep named Adrian with a good attitude and you are off to a great start. Now add an amiable crowd at the horseshoe shaped bar. Also noted is a nice deck with seating overlooking Lake Hopatcong, good just became better. There is a dining specific area with nicely spaced tables set at the ready inside if the weather is not cooperating. We choose to sit at a table for two in the bar area. A staff member approached as if by magic with menus and knowledge of the dinner specials and drink specials. A smiling staff who is able to recommend a new beer to me is always a plus. Cleanliness is a priority and my silverware sparkled as did our water glasses, another show of pride. We tried the Shrimp in a Garlic-Butter Sauce for a starter and sure did enjoy the simple yet flavorful taste and freshness of the shrimp. The lovely had a Lobster Salad on a Pretzel Roll and noted that it was tasty and portioned just right. I had to go for a pub standard, Fish and Chips. My meal was served hot as it should be. The batter was light so the fish could be tasted, yum. My fries were crisp and hit the right spot. My grapefruit beer was cold and perfect for a nice summer day. Patrick’s is now our #1 stop of Lake Hopatcong hands down. Next time we will come by boat.
Quick lunch and a pint after a bike show. The Guinness is always good as was the food. Always a nice place for a quick bite.
This restaurant was recently reviewed in the local paper so when my brother made an unexpected trip East we decided to give it a try. It was like stepping into one of those great little Irish pubs! The bartender’s brogue was so strong that my brother had trouble understanding him. We both ordered the shepherd’s pie which was delicious. We sat out on the deck overlooking Lake Hopatcong and really enjoyed a wonderful evening.
We stop here often and have never been disappointed. Burgers are our main choice. Go for the Riverstyx burger – it will make your belly happy!
